The suter/ohlhorst loudspeaker systems are no longer in production. This site is kept online for reference and information.

Systems

One range, configured to the room

A system consists of the loudspeaker models, a programmed Signal Processor 4.8 and all required cables (power and balanced XLR audio). Stand recommendations are available on request.

The suter/ohlhorst systems: 515/99, 515/9, 515, 519 and 519/9 on stands

Start small, expand any time

The system can be started small and expanded at any time. Surround configurations in various setups (5.1, 7.1 and so on) are possible. For soffit mounting, the amplifier plates can be replaced with passive plates and the amplifiers operated in an external housing.

Consultation & calibration

Comprehensive consultation and room calibration by the suter/ohlhorst acousticians are central to the approach. The signal processor ships with graphical configuration software and presets that emulate studio classics — for example a 2-way monitor with active tweeter and midrange, or broadband-only modes.

Performance

Tuned to the room, not the spec sheet

Rather than quoting standard specifications, we emphasize room-specific tuning. As a real-world reference:

Frequency response (> ~50 Hz)
≈ ±1 dB in a reflection-free space
System 515
≈ 32–34 Hz (-3 dB) · optimized ~25 m² room
System 515/99
≈ 21–22 Hz (-3 dB) · optimized ~30 m² control room
System 519
Significantly more bass reserve · full-range mixing monitor

Values measured in optimized rooms; actual results depend on the room and its calibration.
