Modular Loudspeaker Systems
suter/ohlhorst
Mastering-grade monitoring, conceived as a modular, DSP-controlled system — developed through the uncompromising collaboration of two mastering engineers.
The collaboration
Two studios, one monitor
suter/ohlhorst loudspeaker systems were created through the uncompromising collaboration of Dan Suter (echochamber) in Switzerland and Jan Ohlhorst (finemastering) in Germany.
Working every day as mastering engineers — and with a background in electrical engineering — we were able to evaluate each result from many different angles and continuously refine the systems toward the optimum.
Modular by design
Start with a compact configuration and expand later. Components are matched so the sonic character stays consistent across every system size.
DSP-controlled
A loudspeaker always works within a room, with a listener. The Signal Processor 4.8 calibrates the system to each room and each listening position.
Made by mastering engineers
These are the monitors we built for our own daily work. The results have to translate — a perspective that sets them apart from conventional loudspeakers.
One range, many configurations
From a compact monitor to a full-range system
The same building blocks scale from a small near-field setup to a full-range mixing and mastering system — delivered with a programmed Signal Processor 4.8 and all required cabling.
